The SA Print Gallery was opened in 2009 and has the largest floorspace compared to its sister galleries which are located in other parts of the Western Cape. It is focused on exhibiting works from the past 100 years of South African printmaking while the adjoining smaller gallery focuses on monthly contemporary work. The Gallery was established by a Master Print Maker who sought to promote the appreciation of the medium.
The emphasis of the gallery is more than simply promoting the big names in the industry, but showcasing quality printmaking.
