The Richard Wagner Society of South Africa presents a recital by Farida Bacharova (violin) and Albie van Schalkwyk (piano) playing works by Schnittke, Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev.
Tessa Campbell, one of Ms Bacharova’s students, also performs a piece as part of the society’s aim to offer performance opportunities to young musicians. Farida Bacharova is guest concertmaster of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, she studied at the Moscow Conservatory, and is head of strings at the SA College of Music at UCT. Albie van Schalkwyk, one of South Africa’s leading chamber musicians, is also an associate professor at UCT. Tickets are available via email or telephone.
