Blind Adventurer, Christopher Venter, is at it again as he participates in ‘Going Around Blind’.
Imagine the thrill of completing 22 laps of Killarney International Raceway via 22 different means of transport. Now imagine doing this all without sight. In February, Blind Adventurer, Christopher Venter completes 22 trips around the track with each trip taking a different format. For each two-mile lap, he is joined by one of 22 sighted guides that help him navigate the track and select means of transport.
This includes some crazy and unbelievable vehicles. Everything from a Porsche to a wheelchair, a forklift to a horse. There is a truck, a bobcat, some vintage vehicles, a TukTuk, an old Vespa Scooter with sidecar and even an old school VW Kombi. Expect to see him paddling his custom-built kayak on wheels and steering everything from a truck to a Land Rover, a golf cart to a quad bike.
Chris is out to again prove the mantra he lives by: “In an Accessible world, a #BlindManCan do anything that a sighted person is able to”
Please help to share the word so we can get a nice crowd at the track on the day that he takes on ‘Going Around Blind’. Live entertainment during the afternoon from local band Tuxedo. The bar and restaurant are open and the entrance to the track will be free. Bring picnic baskets and find a good spot alongside the pits to cheer him on as he passes with each lap.
