2020 is already two months in and while we’re just starting to settle into the new year, it’s not too late to kick off your resolutions. But if the idea of the obligatory gym memberships, sweaty equipment and monotonous routines puts a damper on your exercise goals, here’s a list of alternative fitness trends that make working out more than a chore. From boxing and martial arts to kite surfing and rock climbing, turn your New Year’s resolution into a lifestyle.
Obstacle Fitness is Cape Town’s biggest and best obstacle training facility, offering various challenges and training opportunities for all skill levels through professionally-coached fun classes, kids parties and team building events. Their classes take place 5 days per week, with Monday classes including Obstacle Strength, Foundational Movement, as well as children’s classes for 6 to 12-year-olds – the Little Tigers. Their three monthly memberships – Bold, Brave and Courageous, give you access to four, eight or an unlimited number of each activity, respectively. High Five Kite School gives you the opportunity to take advantage of living in Cape Town, one of the top three destinations for kiting in the world. They offer kitesurfing lessons, surfing and SUPing lessons as well as various full-day outdoor adventures.
Their kitesurfing lessons take place in both Blouberg, Cape Town and Langebaan. You can choose between either an introductory lesson or one-day, three-day or five-day lesson packages. The Pole Project is Cape Town’s elite pole dance studio offering group and private pole fitness, pole dance, aerial and stretch classes.
