Having studied jazz at the University of Cape Town, David Poole and Dom Peters were inspired by an idea for a live electronic duo – which they named ‘Goldfish’ after Dom’s legendary short term memory. This duo has now surpassed all expectations, not only topping local charts, but obtaining a top 10 hit on the USiTunes Dance Chart, headlining Amsterdam’s Olympic Stadium, and having a residency at Pacha Ibiza along with DJs such as David Guetta. During this residency, they developed their sound further, and the result was second album Perceptions of Pacha, which captures the care-free vibe of the island of Ibiza. They followed this up with their latest hit album Get Busy Living, featuring the hits ‘FortKnox’ and ‘We Come Together’. With their unique mix of saxophones, double bass, keyboards and various effects, Goldfish have created something of a new genre incorporating both jazz and dance. The result is clearly a positive one, and they have grabbed the attention of the likes of Dre Dre, DJ Fedde Le Grand and Faithless.
