Book Dash gathers volunteers to create new African storybooks in all languages that anyone can freely print, translate and distribute. They believe that South African children need more books. But, the publishing process makes books expensive, so Book Dash eliminates all costs except printing by bringing together a group of creatives to do the work of publishers in a single day.
Book Dash believes that all children should own 100 books by the age of 5. They are running a Book Dash day in Stellenbosch and invite creative people from the surrounding areas to volunteer for the 12-hour sprint. This day is dedicated to creating books for babies aged 0-2 years.
Book Dash provides food and drink and asks that participants are physically present for the full 12 hours
