The Cape Orchid Society hosts its annual Spring Show at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, featuring unusual and exotic orchids on display.
The Spring flower showcase offers the public an opportunity to view what the Society does, experience the beauty of the orchid world, and purchase orchids and other exotic plants to add to their own collections
Founded in 1957, the Cape Orchid Society is the oldest orchid group in South Africa and a founder member of the South African Orchid Council. They aim to bring together those interested in orchids in order to promote and encourage the culture and conservation of orchids, as well as to educate and provide a base for all other orchid-related activities.
The Society hosts a number of events throughout the year, including two shows in which growers showcase their blooms, an auction, greenhouse open days and hikes.
