I Capuleti e I Montecchi

Cape Town Opera presents I Capuleti e I Montecchi, which draws on the earliest versions of the Romeo and Juliet story. The star-crossed lovers are soprano and mezzo-soprano, featuring sensuous duets by Italian composer, Vincenzo Bellini.

Table Mountain Cableway Kidz Season

Capetonians get the chance to explore the mountain, with two children riding for free with an adult who has purchased a return ticket. As part of the Kidz Season experience, all children receive a treasure hunt map and something sweet. Offer available to South Africans only.

Two Oceans Aquarium After Dark Music Series

Over four nights from May to August 2019, the Aquarium hosts 8 bands, performing stripped-down acoustics sets. The viewing area in front of the I&J Ocean Exhibit is transformed into a cozy, living room-style setting where guests are able to enjoy two bands each evening.

The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?

Pulitzer Prize-winner, Edward Albee’s acclaimed play about a married, middle-aged architect who falls in love with a goat. The show won the 2002 Tony Award for Best Play, The Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play and was a finalist for the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Vintage with Love Sale 2019

Vintage with Love is an event that incorporates fashion and charity into one by selling donated gently worn clothing. All the money raised from the sale is donated to literacy-orientated NGO’s and other literacy programmes.

Schalkie by Schalk Bezuidenhout

Schalk Bezuidenhout returns with a new one-man show, performed in English. The show is Schalk’s third one-man show, in which he presents his take on life. Schalk’s mix of energetic and awkward comedy is appealing to a range of audiences.

‘Coucou Crumble’ by Maurice Mbikayi

Congolese artist Maurice Mbikayi presents a solo exhibition that asks ‘what happens when everything falls apart?’. Mbikayi is not afraid to call out the systemic powers that be and imagines a future in which African people can reinvent themselves out of the chaos.

Eseltjiesrus Book Fair

At McGregor’s 13th annual Book Fair, book lovers can look forward to thousands of new pre-owned books at bargain prices. The Book Fair runs a popular reading and storytelling theatre for children, to promote a culture of reading.
