It’s not always easy for photographers, videographers and creative artists to find the right space to bring their ideas to life. To help with the process, we’ve made a list of well-equipped and visually-sound Cape Town photographic studios for hire.
Run by passionate photographer Lizette Frank, The White Studio is located in Gardens, just behind Wembley Square Lifestyle Centre. Because of its proximity to the city centre, the studio is close to Cape Town’s top locations, right in the heart of the city’s artistic hub, home to the photography, advertising and film industries. The White Studio is available for stills and film shoots, as well as commercials, castings and events. Opening hours are from 08:00‐18:00 on Mondays to Sundays, and bookings can be made for full days (10 hours) and half days (five hours). From 1 November 2019, accommodation will also be available at the studio.

Mr. George’s Creative Studio is located in Paarden Eiland, and the owners’ philosophy is based on a real, larger-than-life character: Mr. Georges. “A quirky genius, his determination to make beautiful things has inspired us to open a studio for creating truly unique projects that encourage collaborations.”
With natural light streaming through the industrial windows, as well as glimpses of the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain in the background, the studio is considered a “creative’s dream”. Because the space is easily transformed, it’s not only suitable for photographers and videographers, but also for artists wanting to create large-scale art pieces, or as a venue for events. Mr. George’s Studio is available for stills and film shoots, green screen shoots, castings and events. Beyond being a premium rooftop venue for events, Rooftop on Bree is available as a daylight studio for photographers and videographers.
The venue boasts 250 square metres of glassed-in space, floor-to-ceiling double-volume windows with views in every direction, and a 150 square metre outside deck. As a spacious studio with plenty of natural light and options for different settings, Rooftop on Bree offers a centrally-located solution for creatives to let their imagination run wild.
There’s also a large contemporary bar and luscious plant décor, and a hallmark feature of the space is the retractable skylight roof, which opens and closes with the click of a button.
