Water biking is a unique ocean adventure activity and an exciting, fun way to experience the ocean around Simon’s Town, famous for its rich marine life and spectacular views of the surrounding Table Mountain range.
Guests meander past the yacht basin as well as the naval base into open Atlantic waters. They travel along a scenic stretch of coastline, towards the world-famous African penguin and seal colony at Boulders beach.
During the rides there are often encounters with playful Cape fur seals, other marine life and various sea birds along the way. During whale season, it is possible to encounter one of the magnificent mammals.
From the elevated position on a water bike, visitors get to experience the African penguins in their natural habitat as they head off or return from their hunting trips.
Cape Town Water Bikes also offer premium water bikes, which are silent, with zero emissions, do not require fuel and allow for safe exploration without any environmental footprint.
This unique experience with the penguins, viewed from a water bike, is only possible from Simon’s Town. Guided Tours are on offer to the penguins and seals, and rentals can last for 30 min or for one hour.
