Even if you’re not celebrating romantic love this Valentine’s Day, why not celebrate your other special people – your friends? Maybe you’d like to celebrate with quality time, wine tasting or a pamper session. Or maybe you’d prefer to have a laugh at The Cape Town Comedy Club or support a charity dinner. Regardless, let’s celebrate and appreciate friendship this February.
The Franschhoek Wine Tram has become a must-do activity for both locals and tourists visiting the Western Cape. Offering eight different tram lines, and featuring over 25 top wine estates, it’s undoubtedly the best way to explore the Cape Winelands.
The most popular option, the Hop-on Hop-off Experience, allows you to do just that – hop on and off as you like, experiencing the different activities on offer, be it wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or just a stroll through the vineyards. And when you’re ready, you can simply hop-on and continue your journey.
For something a bit more focused and designed for the true wine-lovers, the Curated Wine Experience is a real treat. A knowledgeable wine guide accompanies you to a selection of three wine estates for premium tastings and pairings, a cellar & vineyard tour, and a specially curated three-course lunch.
Transfers from Cape Town and surrounds are offered at affordable rates, which means that you can just relax and enjoy the day without having to think about driving or organising transport. Journeying through rolling vineyards in a vintage-style railway tram and open-air tram-bus, visiting some of South Africa’s most distinguished wine estates, is a perfect way to celebrate love and friendship this Valentine’s Day!

Join Toy Run Cape Town for their third annual fundraising Valentine’s Dinner Under the Stars. This year’s theme is Hats, Hearts and Masks!
Sitting at 6 to 10 seater tables, you will enjoy a 3-course meal, ‘al fresco’, amongst 100 existing and potential friends. There is a vegetarian option upon request and bubbly will be served.
The live music and the fairytale setting will set the scene for an evening of happiness, laughter and love.
Whether you bring a group of friends, a loved one, or family members, remember that this event is all about showing your love and generosity in order to provide some comfort and joy to the many vulnerable children in our communities. The fundraising this year is specifically in support of Zanokhanyo Abandoned Children’s Home in Khayelitsha, which recently burnt down through no fault of theirs.
