Are you hoping for a touch of elegance this Christmas? If you’re still looking for a Christmas experience with class, we’ve got you covered with gourmet cuisine, festive carols, a glass or two of rosé, and classic cinema under the stars.
THE SKOTNES CHRISTMAS LUNCH
The Skotnes Restaurant is the culinary arm of the Norval Foundation, and they’re offering a novel way to spend Christmas Even dinner or Christmas Lunch – in the exclusivity of a museum, overlooking the Foundation’s wetland and sculpture garden.
This modern bistro pays homage to classic South African cuisine, which is evident in their Christmas menu. The Christmas Lunch begins with breads and dips, including mieliebrood and roosterbrood. The cold main course includes braaied asparagus, roast beef and market fish with beetroot and amasi. The main course brings together a great variety of flavours, including rosemary and garlic roast lamb, crispy roasted potatoes and ‘soet wortels.’ Pre-dessert consists of fruit ice lollies, with chocolate jingle bells and chocolate spiced cherries for dessert. Vegetarian substitutes can be requested. All ingredients are sourced from local small-batch suppliers.
Christmas lunch is accompanied by live jazz.
Date: 24 December at 6pm to 10pm | 25 December 12pm to 3.30pm
Cost: Christmas Eve set menu R990 | Christmas lunch set menu R1200 (or with wine pairing R1700)
