Clock Tower

Clocktower PrecinctSituated across the Swing Bridge from the main area of the V&A Waterfront, the Clock Tower was formerly the Port Captain’s office. Nowadays the precinct features the Victorian Gothic-style Clock Tower (1882), the triple-story Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island glass museum which links the V&A Waterfront with the Robben Island Museum on the island itself, being the departure point for ferries to Robben Island.

From the Clocktower Precinct, visitors can also gain access to a variety of museums and galleries, including the Cape Town Diamond Museum and the Chavonnes Battery Museum.

Parking: There is a variety of secure open-air and covered parking in the Waterfront. All are located near specific attractions. Various fees apply. See this parking map.
