SUMMER SESSIONS PRESENTED BY MERCEDES-BENZ: Saturday 02 March

Performer: Peter Ndlala

At 7pm on Saturday, 2 March, musician Peter Ndlala will be entertaining the crowd with a combination of afro-jazz at the V&A Waterfront’s Amphitheatre. Peter started his musical journey with the Music Action for People’s Progress jazz ensemble and performed at the Guinness Jazz Festival in 1992. He has since performed with renowned artists such as Judith Sephuma, Lira, R&B singer Rashaan Patterson and the late HHP to name a few.

SUMMER SESSIONS PRESENTED BY MERCEDES-BENZ: Saturday 09 March

Performer: The River Band

The River Band will be entertaining the crowd on Saturday, 9 March at the V&A Waterfront’s Amphitheatre from 7pm. Formed in 2012, this Cape Town band will have you in awe with their passion for storytelling through music and lyrics.

SUMMER SESSIONS PRESENTED BY MERCEDES-BENZ

Performer: Milton Academy

Hailing from the USA, the Milton Academy will grace the V&A Waterfront’s Amphitheatre stage on Saturday, 16 March at 7pm. Established in 1974 by Bob Sinicrope, the popular jazz group is comprised of over 75 students in eight different jazz categories. They have opened for well-known artists such as James Taylor, Poncho Sanchez, Elvin Jones and T.S. Monk to name a few. Milton also has a close relationship with two South African township groups, the Amy Biehl Foundation and the Music Academy of Gauteng.

SUMMER SESSIONS PRESENTED BY MERCEDES-BENZ: Saturday 23 March

Performer: Mae Sithole Band

At 7pm on Saturday, 23 March, Mae Sithole Band will be firing up the stage with their catchy assortment of pop, jazz, soul and funk for everyone to enjoy at the V&A Waterfront. With the lead singer, Mae Sithole hailing from the country of Zimbabwe, the band has previously performed at the National Arts Festival of South Africa as well as the La Fete de Musique in Geneva, Switzerland.

Opening for Mae Sithole is 16-year old opera singer, Bianca Solomons from Kraaifontein. She will perform from 6.30pm to 6.50pm. Bianca’s musical journey started in grade two and she has since performed at numerous competitions and events. She has received many medals and certificates including her Western Province colours.

SUMMER SESSIONS PRESENTED BY MERCEDES-BENZ: Saturday 30 March

Performer: Marcé Underwood

Classically trained singer and songwriter, Marcé Underwood will captivate the audience at the V&A Waterfront’s Amphitheatre on Saturday, 30 March at 7pm. The Cape Town born opera and jazz singer started her musical journey at 17 and has since performed with legendary artists such as Lira, MiCasa, Kyle Shepherd and Buddy Wells to name a few.

The amphitheatre is centrally located, and there are various fast food restaurant as well as sit-down restaurant in the surrounding area. The harbour is a short walk away and table mountain is in full view. The whole area is connected with free wifi.

There is underground parking available in the shopping mall which is connected to the Amphitheatre.
