Silo Concert


The musicians from the Cape Town Folk Festival perform a free outdoor concert as one of the V&A Waterfront’s Silo Concerts. The artists include The Rudimentals, Gangs of Ballet, Medicine Boy and Vusi Mahlasela amongst many others.

Cape Town Sevens

Carols by Candlelight December Highlights


Enjoy a picnic on the Great Lawn at Vergelegen Estate before celebrating Christmas with carol singing and a Christmas pageant under the stars.

Jeremy Loops December Highlights


The acclaimed alternative folk singer-songwriter Jeremy Loops and Blues-Rock band Crimson House perform live as part of the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts series. Guests can bring along picnic baskets and blankets and soak up the music, surrounded by indigenous flora and the looming presence of Table Mountain.

Matilda December Highlights


Pieter Toerien presents the South African production of the award-winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company, inspired by Roald Dahl’s classic book. Matilda The Musical is the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

Picnic on Fire December Highlights


The Psychedelic Theatre presents an hour-long show with music, fire breathing, and dancing with burning hula-hoops, palm candles and fire snakes. Enjoy this spectacle with a picnic alongside The Taalmonument’s beautiful sunset view.

Swing Time


Cape Town City Ballet presents the return of Swing Time, Sean Bovim’s ballet performed to the music of the swinging 1930s. The production combines the 1930s New York dance club ambience with the seductive rhythms of jazz. Audiences relive the past as they watch the technically proficient dancers of the CTCB interpreting hit tunes such as It Had To Be You, Unforgettable and Fly Me To The Moon.

Dry White


Having recovered from his early-onset midlife crisis just in time for Cape Town to almost become the world’s first city to run out of water, stand-up comic Nik Rabinowitz explores the recent water crisis in his new show. Rabinowitz also touches on love, marriage, infidelity, transphobia, staying woke post forty, and when the land should be given back.

Favourite Things Market


After a one-year hiatus the market returns just in time for festive season shopping, featuring 45 hand-picked stalls filled with stylish, handmade, homemade and collectable goods and treats, from baked treats to jewellery, home-knits and rare finds. The visitor’s centre offers tastings of wine, chocolates and olive oil, and is home to a country-style restaurant, where slow-cooked, shared meals are served with authentic platteland passion.

Festival of Light


Spier presents its first ever Festival of Light Art taking place this festive season, in which farm lights up each night with a journey of light and sound artworks. The opening ceremony on 8 and 9 December, choreographed by Jay Pather, showcases sound and light sculptures which are revealed as the audience follows the procession of performers across a multi-sensory, cross-cultural wonderland.
