A tour around District Six, focusing on the history and personal stories in the area, providing an opportunity to remember and celebrate the vibrancy that characterised the former District Six before its destruction.
The District Six Museum is dedicated to the memory of this once vibrant residential community and seeks to ensure that its legacy lives on and is shared. Thus the tour begins at the museum and works its way up through the district, stopping at several spots of significance along the way. The stories of former residents animate the vacant land, and give life and new meaning to these ‘empty’ spaces dotted around the city.
The tour lasts approximately one hour. Minimum group size: 1.
Start Venue: District Six Museum, 25A Buitenkant St, Cape Town
