Four of South Africa’s finest actors bring Samuel Beckett’s absurdist play, Endgame, to life. This piece of theatre art is widely considered to be one of Beckett’s best works, and one of the most extraordinary plays ever written. It is done full justice by director Sylvaine Strike and actors Andrew Buckland, Rob van Vuuren, Antoinette Kellermann and Soli Philander. Beckett’s sharp insights into a hopeless, tragicomic existence are portrayed with typical black humour. The play examines the relationship between employer and employee, clown and oppressed, father and son, parent and child.
Endgame was a sold out success at the Baxter Theatre in August 2018 and now is at Woordfees to entertain audiences again.
