Created in an old train station by the iconic South African comedian, Pieter Dirk-Uys, for his alter ego, Evita Bezuidenhout, Evita Se Perron is a vibrant theatre and creative destination. The theatre decor personifies Evita’s personality with an eclectic mix of South African culture, quirky art, and satirical pieces.
Theatregoers can make a day of the experience, enjoying a witty performance and a traditional Afrikaans meal followed by a stroll on the surrounding grounds. Highlights include the craft centre and Boerassic Park – an eccentric display of mosaics, vintage cars, sculptures, and murals. As a memento, visitors can ask to have their photo taken with Pieter Dirk-Uys next to the Darling Station sign.
