Earth Fair Market


The Earth Fair Market beams good vibes and family festive-fun, featuring live music from local artists and a wide selection of amazing breads, cheeses and cuisine to savour.

Suburb-dwellers starved of cool things to do during weeknights can pop in for a great dining experience. The artisanal food vendors serve delicious Indian curries, ribs, Thai bowls and more. The beverage list features 12 craft beers on tap, gin and brandy options, and an Origin Coffee stand for the coffee-lovers. 

Farm-fresh produce and pasture-reared meat, poultry and organic vegetables can be found at the semiweekly wholefoods market. The Wednesday and Friday night markets are family-friendly, set up with a kids entertainment area run by Freedom Adventure Park.

Spier Craft Market


Find a unique handcrafted memento or a special gift to take home at Spier’s vibrant and colourful craft market.

Located at the historic Stellenbosch wine farm of Spier, the market is nestled under the shady trees near the Tasting Room. Guests are invited to browse through the wondrous array of exquisite paintings and head-high wooden carvings to jewellery, leatherwork, textiles and ceramics. 

Make it yourself: A range of customised experiences are available for guests. Let one of the artists teach you the basics of their trade and take home your very own work.

Second Hand


Calling all bargain hunters, the Second-Hand team invites you to their annual thrift shopping market featuring a splendid range of rare and vintage collections at the Observatory Community Centre.

The Obs-official Thrift Fest is a fantastic spot for a second-hand shopping spree ahead of Christmas. With bundles of hand made goods, clothing, trinkets and rare accessories, this year sees 40 local traders displaying their showpieces.

The festivities at the Observatory Community Centre include a playground for the young ones, music to set the vibe and great food and beverages vendors. Enjoy a day out in Observatory with friends and family while picking up a bargain or two.

The Second-Hand team also work as Recycling drop off point on the day. So if you have any papers, plastic, tin or glass lying around, bring it along for a free entrance.

Cost: Entrance is R10 for adults and R5 for kids under 12 years.

The V&A Waterfront invites all kids between the ages of 4 to 14 years to take part in their market, providing a safe and supportive space to practice being entrepreneurs.

Kids are encouraged to explore any aspect of creativity that they enjoy from creating art, craft, baking and just about anything they can think of that can be sold at a market. All products have to be their own. Prizes for the young entrepreneur that makes the most profit are up for grabs.

To enter, kids must submit a 1-minute long video about themselves, what they’re selling and why they should be part of the V&A Waterfront’s Kids Market.

Videos should be sent via WhatsApp to the V&A number on 082 975 2940 before 30 November 2020

Important rules:
– The young entrepreneur must be the maker of this product
– Only kids between 4 – 14 years old may apply
– Shortlisted kids are sent an application link to complete
– Once applications have been submitted it is reviewed by a committee and each week a different group of entrepreneurs has the opportunity to participate on only one of the Market dates.
– The V&A Waterfront provides one table and a table cloth
– The young entrepreneur is responsible to dress their own stand and create their own signage
