Sit the Folk Down, a world-class record studio facilitating live music shows, invites all for some Folking Good Music.
For two hours, there are some of South Africa’s finest local singers and songwriters who are performing a mix of their own original compositions, as well as some classic cover tunes.
STFD started out as an initiative taking music into the homes of local music fans with the intention of reigniting a passion for local music as well as a live music culture. Over the years they have progressed to also offering live entertainment, music and event management, and a recording studio.
Their primary mission is to facilitate shows in unique venues, creating an experience where people leave feeling they’ve witnessed something special. Over the years they have hosted shows with the likes of Robin Auld, Wendy Oldfield, Albert Frost, and Femi Koya as well as working with international acts such as Stelth Ulvang (The Lumineers), Ian Fisher, Brett Newski, and Blind Butcher.
Each Saturday’s lineup offers something different and can be viewed on their Facebook page.
It’s advisable to book a table by contacting the venue.
