The recently opened Bodega Bar is planning to see in the New Year in style, with live DJs from 8pm to 3am and star act Craig Lucas performing from 11pm.
Bodega Bar is a boutique venue with panoramic views of Table Mountain from the viewing deck. The cash bar will be specialising in cocktails and sparkling wines.

ELEGANCE AT BELMOND MOUNT NELSON HOTEL
New Year’s Eve Gala Buffet: The iconic Mount Nelson Hotel once again offers an evening in the grand Ballroom, with an internationally-inspired menu to appeal to everyone. A distinctly family-friendly evening, the live entertainment is accompanied by a buffet serving everything from cured meats to smoked fish, pumpkin ravioli to springbok loin, oysters to turkey, and Yorkshire pudding to Indian curry, as well as a salad and a ramen station. New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner: The Mount Nelson’s Gala Dinner is an altogether upper class affair. The Sherwood Room – with its strictly smart dress code – hosts a six-course dinner including amuse bouche, poached salmon, broccoli souffle, pullet egg, lamb loin, champagne sorbet and more – with live entertainment and bubbly upon arrival. PRE-PARTY AT CAPE MILNER HOTEL
Aiming to get into town early and avoid the traffic? Then you may want to consider joining the Cape Milner Hotel’s exclusive pre-party hosted in their uber-chic Glass Lounge.
While DJ Oros supplies groovy tunes throughout the evening, great cocktails are accompanied by an eclectic array of hot and cold tapas – fresh, summery tastes and unusual combinations. Think quail scotch eggs with pea and pink peppercorn puree, squid ink ravioli wrapped around scallop and hake, duck and shitake mushroom spring rolls with blueberry jam, rounded out by a delectable white chocolate and wasabi ganache!

DINNER AT TOWNHOUSE HOTEL
Snugly located in the heart of Cape Town, the Townhouse restaurant, Trees, rings in 2019 with a celebratory 3-course menu this New Year’s Eve.
Michelin-trained executive chef Stefan Schmidt and his team compiled a menu which includes gourmet cuisine choices such as beetroot-cured salmon, lamb consommé, Rooibos tea-marinated duck breast, poached kingklip and raspberry gateaux. A complimentary glass of Laborie MCC Brut Rose accompanies the menu.
Trees Restaurant is a chic spot which boasts with an air of intimacy and sophistication. The venue is a short drive away from the V&A Waterfront and other town-located venues, making this a great option for a pre-party build-up.

PARTY AT ALLÉE BLEUE
Gather your party-loving friends and join Allée Bleue in Le Grand Hall for a effortlessly fun evening filled with food, drink, live music and dancing in the heart of the Franschhoek winelands.
A 4-piece band will play old-time favourites and contemporary tunes, with a flute countdown at midnight. Indulge in the cash bar as well as the cuisine on offer – ranging from fire-grilled meat skewers, burgers, pork belly, beer-battered kingklip to fried vegetables, smoked brinjal and boccacini, savoury pancakes, and warm desserts.

NEW YEAR’S EVE OLDIES AT OUDE LIBERTAS
As part of the Oude Libertas Summer Season Festival, Oude Libertas is hosting its traditional New Year’s Eve party.
Friends and families are invited to pack a picnic and head to the lush Oude Libertas gardens, where live music is performed by talented musicians and singers Sima Mashazi, Kyle Seconna, Zolani Shangazi and Juju Domingo, hosted by MC Jannie Moolman. The bar is open throughout the evening, as is the dance floor.

TIGGER 2: NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY ON THE WATER
There are two options to spend this special evening on elegant power boat Tigger 2. The first is a cruise through 2018’s final sunset, with a welcome beverage and snacks upon boarding, sparkling wine served at anchor off Clifton beach, and dinner served once back at mooring. Top-rated DJ Didier supplies the tunes throughout the duration of the charter. The later option sees dinner served at Tigger 2’s mooring before setting sail and the highlight of the evening entails witnessing the midnight firework display from out at sea. Dinner includes a fifteen-piece canapé platter per person.

SKOTNES NEW YEAR’S EVE DINNER
Recently named Eat Out’s Most Highly Commended Restaurant in the Bistro Category, The Skotnes hosts its first New Year’s Eve Dinner.
The Skotnes Restaurant is the culinary arm of the Norval Foundation, and fuses traditional South African fare with modern gastronomic flair. This New Year’s Eve includes a set meal with optional wine pairing, accompanied by live music.

FIREWORKS AT V&A WATERFRONT
The V&A Waterfront once again hosts one of Cape Town’s biggest New Year’s Eve events.
A number of street performers and colourful Cape Town Carnival characters entertain the public all the way from the Amphitheatre and kids playground area through to the Alfred Mall, Nobel Square, the Clock Tower and the Silo District. Food trucks will be littered throughout the Waterfront and the Food Court will be open till late. It is highly recommended to book restaurants in advance.
The highlight of the evening is, as always, the spectacular display of midnight fireworks.

BAXTER THEATRE NEW YEAR’S EVE BASH
Comedy, music and dance dominate the Baxter Theatre Centre’s festive season line-up, building up to one of Cape Town’s most popular New Year’s Eve parties.
There are three shows to choose from on 2018’s final night, with some of the artists leading the countdown (in accordance to tradition) at the typically sold-out New Year’s Eve Bash in the Threatre Centre’s foyer. The first show of the evening is Aunty Merle the Musical – a musical comedy drama starring the ever popular Marc Lottering. Following is RAW (real Art Wednesdays) Fest, an event that showcases the best performers from Cape Town under one roof, including talented local singer Gabi Du Plessis. The third show of the night features top South African comedian Nik Rabinowitz in his new production Dry White, which draws humour from Cape Town’s recent drought.
All shows start later on in the evening than usual, and ticket prices include entrance to the New Years’ Eve Bash. Book early to avoid disappointment.
