High Tea at Home

0

High Tea Casa Labia is bringing a classic English tradition, the high tea, to the comfort of people’s living rooms.

The British tradition of High Tea began in the mid-1700s as an afternoon meal usually served between 3 pm and 4 pm. Initially, it was a meal for the working man, taken standing up or sitting on tall stools, thus ‘high’. Tea with cakes, scones, crackers, cold meats, cheeses and salads would have been served.

Casa Labia is putting a modern, Covid-friendly spin on things by offering High Tea for two, four or six in a box delivered at people’s doors. There are three different drop-off times to choose from.

Each box contains an assortment of sweet and savoury treats as well as an Enmasse tea variety box. Some savoury treats are salmon and cucumber roulade, mini beef and mozzarella bites, frittatas and phyllo triangles. For the sweet tooths, there are meringue kisses, scones with jam, lemon slices, brownies and homemade marshmallows.
The staff provides an in-person (masked, gloved and sanitised) or pre-recorded tea explanation.
Boxes can also be collected seven days a week.
