Dan Shout has performed in over 30 countries with musical artists such as Johnny Clegg (with whom toured for 7 years), Winston Mankunku, Maria Schneider, Gordon Vernick (USA), Paul Booth, Dave O’Higgins, Steve Waterman, A.J. Brown and Dan Whieldon (UK) to name a few. His original compositions are based on his life in Southern Africa, his family’s emigration from Zimbabwe and his formative years in the Namib Desert.
Dan’s versatility is evident in his performances with his jazz quartet (The Dan Shout Quartet), lounge act Magic Carpet Ride, and reggae band The Rudimentals.
Some of his career highlights include performing at the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival in Ireland, the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Hague in Netherlands, at the Montreal Jazz Festival in Canada, Victoria Jazz Club in Oslo, Norway, Wigan International Jazz Festival in England, the Edinburgh International Jazz & Blues Festival in Scotland and Nelson Mandela’s 46664 Concert at Ellis Park in December 2007.
