Cape Town-born and bred musician, Jonathan Rubain performs his latest musical, Pinkster. Born and bred in Hanover Park, 33-year-old Rubain performs at the Grand Arena, Grand West Casino. He is hoping to deliver a sold-out concert experience at this venue which will make him the first ever local gospel musician to do so.
The concert will showcase Rubain’s original music and many popular gospel songs, sprinkled with some “koordans music”. It focuses mainly on Jonathan`s life and love for the music of the Church. It is his biggest show to date.
Despite growing up in a community infected with gangsterism and drugs, Rubain has been playing music since he was young and attributes music to keeping him off the streets in Hanover Park. Having performed all over the world with some of the biggest names in gospel music, including Kirk Whalum, the concert also features some of his closest musical friends.
