Alice in Wonderland June Highlights


Canal Walk presents Lewis Carroll’s beloved classic in an original musical by award-winning duo, Fred Abrahamse and Marcel Meyer. This winter, children escape for an hour, where they are enchanted by a Garden of Singing Flowers, learn lessons from Caterpillar, and have a mad-cap tea-party with the Mad Hatter and others.

International Day of Yoga


Yoga and fitness instructor Joёlle Sleebos and Adidas South Africa join forces again to unite 2000 yogis in celebration of the practice of yoga and to raise funds for Earth Child Project. Participants choose either a morning session or an afternoon session. Both sessions feature yoga workshops and a yoga market with prizes to be won. Bring: Yoga mat/Beach Towel

Darling Winter Beer Festival


The annual beer festival sees guests taste the local craft beers rapidly growing in popularity across the Western Cape and further afield. Participating guest breweries include Drifter Brewing Company, Black Eagle Brewing Company, Red Sky Brew, RIOT Beer, D’Cider, Yzer Bru Brewery and The Franschhoek Beer Company. Live music by Stone Jets, Sunset Sweatshop and The Gambles.

Love Factually June Highlights


The multi-award-winning actor Alan Committie is back in the perfect ‘date-comedy’ for 2018, presenting a new and amusing exploration of the battle of the sexes (and the exes). With a comedic, honest and sometimes even touching look at couples, he continues to explore the absurd differences between men and women, the quirks and foibles of marriage and dating, and even tries to finally provide the right answers to those loaded questions, like “Do you think I look fat?”

Oliver mtukudzi June Highlights


The Zimbabwean Afro-pop legend returns.  Celebrating 67 albums to date, Mtukudzi performs old and new hit tracks with his live band, The Black Spirits. Supporting acts include Bryan K, Pro Beatz and Sylent Nqo.

Abakhulu The Great Ones


A moving essay examining how the youth interpret the ancient wisdom of respect, handed down during initiation to each and every traveller setting off on their journey to adulthood. Fraught with tension, testosterone and menace, then lit up with tenderness, the dancers of the Indoni Dance Academy, under the direction of award-winning choreographer Sbonakaliso Ndaba, hold up a mirror to life.

Alexander Buzlov


The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra presents a classical concert by the Russian cellist as part of the Autumn Symphony Season. Conducted by Victor Yampolsky, Buzlov performs Wagner’s Overture Rienzi, William Walton’s Cello Concerto, and Vaughan Williams’ Symphony No. 5 in D.

Winter Wonderland Festival


The annual Winter Wonderland Festival of Lights takes place over two consecutive weekends. In honour of the temperate winter season, local restaurants, pubs and businesses dress their establishments in twinkling fairy lights. The highlight of the festival, the Carnival Weekend offers a “fantastic fiesta” with an opening parade, fun fair, a winter palace and more.
