Winter may be here but Cape Town is still bussing with events, activities and experiences to warm up the cold days. From world-class theatre to special winter restaurant menus, here are some of our June highlights.

DIE NAAIMASJIEN (THE SEWING MACHINE)

The popular Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunsfees (KKNK) presents the iconic one-woman show, Die Naaimasjien (The SewingMachine) by Rachelle Greeff as part of its virtual 2021 programme.

WINTER MENU AT NEDERBURG’S THE MANOR

Nederburg’s The Manor is now serving a new winter menu of breakfasts, lunches, shared feasts and picnics, created by chef Jerry Kennedy and his team to showcase the best of local seasonal ingredients.

THE MIRAGE PRESENTS STEWARDESS NAUTI GIRL

The luxury Mirage Catamaran is back with their Dinner Theatre At Sea experience featuring a musical production and a three-course dinner. The event also includes a 3-hour yacht cruise aboard The Mirage and a gin-tasting experience.

LIFE AND TIMES OF MICHEAL K

The Baxter Theatre presents a special preview season of Nobel Prize-winning author JM Coetzee’s Life and Times of Michael K, adapted for the stage by Lara Foot, in collaboration with the Handspring Puppet Company.

IRMA STERN NUDES

The UCT Irma Stern Museum presents an exhibition of Nudes by Irma Stern, featuring her paintings, drawings, sketches and sculptures of nudes as echoes of wider socio-political trends.

YOGA AT THE AQUARIUM

A series of yoga classes happening in front of the Aquarium’s mesmerising, large-scale I&J Ocean Exhibit, every Monday evening.The classes are offered by yoga instructor Magenta.

THE PEARL FISHERS

Fresh from their successes in major European opera houses, Vuvu Mpofu and Lukhanyo Moyake return to Cape Town Opera to headline a semi-staged concert version of Bizet’s lush South-Asian fantasia, conducted by world-renowned British maestro Jan Latham-Koenig.
