52 Main Rd, Kalk Bay
Kalk Bay Theatre boasts a thrust stage and seating on three sides of the stage. Although small the theatre is often filled with critically acclaimed shows, such as Tin Bucket Drum, Big Boys II and Pieter Dirk Uys.
History: Kalk Bay Theatre is situated in the old Kalk Bay Dutch Reform Church. There is an air of history which theatre goers can appreciate. This element ties in beautifully with the intimacy of the theatre. See our review
Capacity: The Kalk Bay Theatre can seat 78 people.
Facilities: The restaurant upstairs overlooks the theatre and is a popular place for pre-show meals and post-show drinks with the actors. Drinks may be taken into the theatre but there is no service in the theatre during the show. And it’s possible to reserve seats by using your ticket.
Parking: The public parking area opposite the Holy Trinity Church and about 75 meters before KBT is open and operating fully. There is also parking along the Main Road and in the side streets. After extensive roadworks in 2011 and 2012 the main road through Kalk Bay village is now two way again, but do plan for tailbacks during peak times.
Kalk Bay Theatre also caters for special occasions, birthdays, weddings, office parties, corporate functions and tour groups.
