The team from Picnics in the Park presents the Mad Hatters’ Picnic, an event focused on the out-doors, all of the senses and an emphasis on creativity.
This tea party, hosted by a White Rabbit, a Mad Hatter and a little girl called Alice, recreates one of the most famous scenes from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
The event invites young and old, as they aim to break the Guinness World Record of the most people dressed as characters from Alice in Wonderland, all in one place.
The day features screenings of the different Alice in Wonderland movies, Human Chess, a Hat Parade, a Best Dressed Contest, a Beacon Chocolate Hunt and a host of other surprises
There is also a trip down the rabbit hole for the whole family and various vendors.
The Picnics in the Park Series is a compilation of themed outdoor picnics, held annually, aimed at communities and families. Each event is designed to provide a multi-sensory day by utilising the five senses of sight, sound, taste, smell and touch, therefor delivering a more memorable and creative experience for event attendees.
The event organisers have a charity supporting abused women and children in memory of Heila Kilian (1955-2018), who won the Best Dressed award for her Queen of Hearts costume in 2017.
