With over 300 years behind its name, Lanzerac has secured its status as a top gourmet dining destination in the Winelands. The Manor Kitchen’s menu includes farm-style classics re-imagined with contemporary influences.
Chef Stephen and his team create various cuisine that range from the Salad of Exotic Mushrooms, served with red quinoa, mushroom pesto, goats cheese, mushroom marmite and orange as well as the Beef Tartare served with bone marrow, smoked ice cream, nasturtium, radish and rye.
The starters also include Sumac Dusted Stone Fruit Salad, Herb Rolled Tuna, Cream of Potato Soup and more.
The mains are comprised of Noisette of Lamb prepared with smoked aubergine, olive potato puree, spring onion, parmesan, nasturtium and tomato jus. The Loin of Venison served with confit sweet potato, pumpkin seed crumble, beetroot, spekboom with passion fruit.
The mains also include Seabass Kedgeree, Herb Rolled Salmon, Large Grilled Prawns and more options on offer.
Dessert options are equally vibrant – ranging from Peach Melba prepared with grilled peaches, vanilla bavarois, almond sable, raspberries & mint ice cream. The Tonka Creme Brulee is served with honeycomb, three ways of white chocolate, rhubarb gel with edible flowers and more options available on the menu.
The Afternoon Tea menu offers guests an array of flavours that includes TWG Teas, Rawdon’s Blend (Lanzerac signature blend), green tea and more accompanied by various assortments. The tea menu offers the Savoury Selection that provides an assortment of savoury plates prepared with local and seasonal ingredients.
This menu includes croquettes with condiments, homemade scones served with clotted cream, strawberry jam, lavender cream, cheddar, butter. Macaroons and sweet treats are also available.
Guests can see dishes being prepared through the large windows overlooking the kitchen’s operations where classical dishes are re-imagined with contemporary influences. (The Sunday lunch menu changes weekly and on Saturdays there is an Afternoon Tea from 2pm – 5pm)
