FESTIVAL OF LEARNING

Annual programme of interactive talks and panel discussions, with an aim to ignite valuable conversations around the theme ‘The Power to Create Change’. The programme explores how the fields of psychology, counselling and coaching can lead to individual and group transformation for the betterment of society.

May Highlights Dynamo

DYNAMO

The award-winning English illusionist brings his Seeing is Believing Tour to South Africa. Dynamo is best known for walking on water across the river Thames, levitating in front of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro and walking down the outside of the L.A. Times building.

May Highlights The Sound of Music

SOUND OF MUSIC

The return of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s popular musical presented by Pieter Toerien, David Ian and The Really Useful Group. The production features an all-star South African cast back from its international tour, including Andre Schwartz and Carmen Pretorius.

COME WINE WITH US: THE ART OF PAIRING

CycloFemme

CYCLOFEMME RIDE CAPE TOWN

Bicycle South and Contested Spaces host the annual event which celebrates and highlights the role of women and minority groups in bicycling. The 8km ride takes in the sights of Cape Town’s seafront promenade, offering riders of all skill levels a chance to ride together as they take in the scenery. All welcome.

Slave Route Challenge

SLAVE ROUTE CHALLENGE

Annual event that takes runners past historically significant landmarks, such as the Castle of Good Hope, Grand Parade, the Whipping Post, Old Slave Church, Iziko Slave Lodge and the Slave Tree Plaque, aiming to raise awareness about Cape Town’s history and heritage.

Franschhoek Literary Fest

FRANSCHHOEK LITERARY FESTIVAL

The annual event sees writers gather in Franschhoek to discuss writing, writers and their books, from fiction and poetry to biographies, history, politics and conservation. The emphasis is on informal discussions and spirited debates between several writers with a chairperson, or one-on-one conversations and occasional talks.

Greyton Genandenal

GREYTON GENADENDAL CLASSICS FESTIVAL

A series of classical music concerts performed by local and international musicians in Greyton and Genadendal. Among others, these include a piano recital by Spencer Myer, ‘David Bowie Reworked’ presented by Biblioteek Productions & Youngblood Arts and Culture Development and a gala concert which features local soloists and the Cantique Choir.

SHIRAZ & CHARCUTERIE
