Maynardville Open-Air Theatre has a reputation as one of the best-loved outdoor theatre venues in the Cape Region.  Most famous for the annual Shakespeare-in-the-Park, it has over the last 50 years attracted an average attendance of 20 000 patrons per year.

Facilities: Maynardville offers patrons both a 500m2 wooded park for pre-show picnics and drinks as well as a unique wooded 720-seater theatre setting.

  1. Parking at the Maynardville is a free-for-all but try snagging a spot in front of the church a block away. Many people choose to go earlier and have picnic sundowners in the park. Keep the picnic blanket handy as, once you’ve moved to your seats in front of the stage, you may still find the blanket useful for fighting the evening chill. The sound quality is surprisingly good, as clear as any indoor venue.
