The award-winning South African Afro-House trio, Mi Casa has signed an exclusive global recording agreement with Afroforce1 Records, a division of Universal Music Group Africa.
This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the band’s inception and to celebrate, Mi Casa recently released their brand new album We Made It with the first single Church Bells.
Mi Casa consists of Joao Da Fonseca, a.k.a. J’Something as the lead singer/songwriter, Sipho Mphahlaza a.k.a Dr Duda as DJ/producer, and Moshe Kgasoane, a.k.a Mo-T as trumpeter. The trio has dominated the South African music charts with a total of 8 number one singles and a wall of awards and accolades (Recipients of 5 South African Music Awards (SAMA) including ‘Best Duo Group’, ‘Best Dance Group’ and the coveted ‘Record of the Year’).
Afroforce1 develops and works with local talent to break them into the music industry in Central Europe and the rest of the World. J’Something said that the record deal with Afroforce 1 Records is the most crucial moment in their career and is something they’ve only dreamt about. “We can’t wait to now elevate things onto a whole new level”, he said. He also gives props to their fans who had supported their journey and music.
