Nobu Cape Town, located at the One&Only Cape Town Hotel & Resort, introduces new vegan and vegetarian offerings to their menu.
The two new ‘Omakase’ set-menus includes six dishes each and has been crafted with the intention of giving diners some delicious meat-free alternatives to the existing Signature Omakase menu.
An ‘Omakase’, meaning ‘Chef’s choice’, resembles a tasting-style menu and is designed to impress guests with a creative and curated selection of dishes reflective of Nobu’s Japanese cuisine with Peruvian influence.
The Vegetarian Omakase consists of several dishes and provides diners with an authentic Nobu experience, made largely from plants, and with the inclusion of dairy and eggs.
Diners can expect variations on Nobu ‘classics’ such as Crispy Rice with Avocado and Butternut Puree and the famous Baby Spinach Salad Dry Miso, or brand-new dishes such as Daikon Steak with Vinegar Miso and Quinoa Salsa, or Mushroom and Vegetable Toban Yaki (roasted in a ceramic plate) with Anticucho Sauce.
The Vegan Omakase, on the other hand, offers a similar culinary experience, whilst containing no animal by-products. Dishes include Vegetable Tacos, a vegan Sushi Selection served with Vegetable Consommé, Tempura Vegetables and a Seasonal Fruit Cobbler with Coconut Sorbet for dessert.
Alternatively, guests are welcome to order from the à la carte menu, which includes the restaurant’s world-class selection of sushi, hot and cold dishes prepared using only the freshest produce, line-caught fish and premium cut meats.
An assortment of desserts and an extensive wine and cocktail menu are also on offer.
