In light of the declaration of a National State of Disaster by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions put in place, Norval Foundation is temporarily closed until 12 April 2020.
And while visitors can’t physically explore the gallery, Norval’s Virtual Tour allows all to view the building, Skotnes Restuarant, the shop and sculpture garden.
The Norval Foundation is a new centre for the research and exhibition of 20th- and 21st-century visual art from South Africa and beyond.
Located in the Steenberg area of Cape Town, adjacent to Table Mountain National Park, the Norval Foundation offers art exhibitions with global appeal, in an environment that also fosters an appreciation for nature.
Its sculpture garden, outdoor amphitheatre, purpose-built exhibition spaces and research library are situated within a unique setting that offers visitors a multi-sensory experience. This is complemented by a sophisticated restaurant and bar, a bespoke shop and a children’s playground.
