A dynamic and diverse design-focused city-wide festival that acts as an interactive platform attracting participants from across diverse demographics and communities.
Design is the unifying thread that links innovation, education and community as the building blocks of a sustainable, inclusive, prosperous society. The festival brings these concepts together in a programme of inspiration, discussion and discovery. Some events are ticketed but mostly they are free to enter, ensuring that people from all walks of life can participate, taking design innovation to the people. The program consists of the Open Design City Hall program and a city-wide program at venues across the city.
“From artistic expression to intellectual debate, all paradigms are challenged and the world cracks open with possibilities.” Read Bronwyn-Leigh Knox’s review of Open Design.
