Parkrun is an international movement that hosts free weekly 5km running events for runners of all standards. A number of runs happen around Cape Town on Saturday mornings. Parks involved are Green Point Park, Rondebosch Common, Century City, Constantia Greenbelt, Mitchells Plain, Zandvlei, Bellville, Fish Hoek, Durbanville, Bridgetown, Hout Bay and Big Bay.
The race is a timed run and can be for fun or as part of a training plan. The run encourages people to jog or run together irrespective of their ability. It offers an opportunity for the local community to come together on a regular basis to enjoy beautiful parks while being physically active.
In order to be timed in the run, one must register once before and bring a printed copy of the barcode.
