For this, both the Guest House and the Cottage have a variety of facilities on offer, so as to ensure for guests a pleasant experience during their stay in Tulbagh.

A breakfast of fresh juice, fruits, cereal and yoghurt is followed by a cooked English breakfast as well as coffee and tea.

Inside there is a comfortable sitting room with plenty of reading material. Adjoining this is a full bar with rare award winning wines from small estates throughout the Western Cape.

The Inn also offers a sun-drenched swimming pool, surrounded by a courtyard and shady areas in which to sit and relax, either on the verandah or under the vines.

Additionally, various functions can be arranged. This extends to wine pairing dinners, pre-wedding dinners and engagement parties.

De Oude is located in the famous Church Street, which was struck by an earthquake in 1969, causing the buildings to collapse. After being rebuilt, the buildings along Church Street are now in the Cape Dutch style, and consist of 32 national monuments. De Oude Herberg is one of these.

The town provides a number of activities and places to see. There are museums, gift and antique shops, art galleries and various restaurants to suit all tastes. In the more immediate vicinity, there are also at least sixteen wine cellars and estates, with well-known brands such as Twee Jonge Gezellen, Saronsberg, Lemberg, Rijk’s and Waverley Hills.
