Salon Ninety One is a boutique-style gallery and art consultation service, showcasing works by emerging and established contemporary artists. The gallery, founded by owner, Monique du Preez, who maintains a hands-on approach to the space, specialises in affordable and accessible contemporary South African art, design and illustration.
Since its inception in 2008, the gallery has served as a platform for upcoming South African artists to gain exposure through sharing their creativity and vision. The gallery offers seasoned collectors and first-time buyers unique investment opportunities into the emerging South African art market, coupled with service that is personalized, friendly and professional. The intimate gallery space, central location, and the accessible nature of exhibited works, allow for a relaxed atmosphere where viewers can enjoy a broad range of artworks while furthering their understanding and appreciation of art. Exhibitions rotate every three to four weeks to keep things fresh and exciting.

The gallery team can assist private collectors, architects, new buyers, and corporate clients in sourcing the perfect artwork for any space or budget. Site visits, framing, viewings of artists’ portfolios, and commissions can be arranged on request. Submissions from hard-working artists with a professional attitude to their work, who are looking to develop a long-term working relationship with the gallery are welcomed.
