SANBI Spring Festival

11 to 31 October 2020

SPRING FESTIVALThe South African National Biodiversity Institue (SANBI) presents the inaugural Spring Festival that takes place across 13 gardens throughout the country, 4 of which are on the Cape’s doorstep.

The festival runs until the end of October and aims to showcase and protect the diverse landscapes and biodiversity of the conservation gardens. From grasslands and fynbos to mountains and rivers, the gardens offer the ideal outing for the warmer days.

Within these habitats, the efforts of the SANBI teams see a plethora of fauna and flora being nurtured and protected – efforts that have yielded untouched natural tracts of wilderness and floral splendour that everyone should see to believe.

Most of the Botanical Gardens have curio shops for visitors to treat themselves to a souvenir, and many have a nursery outlet where indigenous plants can be purchased. Some of the gardens offer great braai facilities, alternatively pack a picnic and dine alfresco in some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

The SANBI gardens in the Cape and surrounds are Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Hantam National Botanical Garden, Harold Porter National Botanical Garden and Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden
