Saronsberg Wine Cellar and accommodation is nestled at the foot of the Saronsberg Mountains and just outside the culturally rich town of Tulbagh. Established in 2003, they offer a variety of accommodation options, a selection of award-winning wines and other activities for anyone thinking of a stay in the eclectic area.
The Saronsberg Vineyard Cottages consist of 16 cosy, well-equipped, newly-renovated and self-catering cottages. Most offer an en-suite bathroom and all contain an open plan lounge area with a built-in fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. The cottages are all pet-friendly and guests can feel safe with 24/7 security services.
With numerous accolades to their name, the wine produced by Saronsberg is of top quality. Winemaker Dewaldt Heyns is passionate about every aspect of the winemaking process, which is unique and quite labour intensive. Handpicking, intensive sorting of the berries, a gravity-fed fermentation cellar and focus on attention to detail are key to the success Saronsberg wines consistently enjoy since the maiden vintage in 2004.
Saronsberg is home to a collection to a collection of contemporary art. Their current exhibition is titled ‘Second Take’, a group exhibition with works from over 20 artists. The exhibition is up on display until 28 October.
To round things off, Saronsberg also has venues which are perfect for weddings and conferences. They offer space for 51 guests in total, with a charming Lapa that can be hired for a pre-wedding function or a lovely brunch the morning after, and various packages, facilities and activities for the perfect conference outside city life.
