In the honour of Prince Natale Labia’s love of and great support for the arts, the Labia family launched the Casa Labia Cultural Centre in May 2010. The house is run as a multi-functional cultural centre.
Visitors and residents are offered a seasonal programme of events, including lectures, art classes, musical concerts, poetry readings and book launches throughout the year.
The venue hosts free seating and event tickets are advised to be booked in advance.

Morning Concert with Goerge Hill
Time: 10.45am to 12.45pm
Pianists Ian Bothma and Ivan Preller, two outstanding musicians from the South African College of Music at UCT, appear at the morning concert held at Casa Labia Cafe, Cucina Labia. Their programme includes works by Beethoven, Debussy, Ginastera and Chopin. Tea and coffee is available before the concert.

Pierre van der Westhuizen in Concert

Pierre van der Westhuizen (Tenor) and Nella De Waal (Pianist), delight guests through a love-songs journey of personal tenor favourites. Meandering between the decades of classic love songs, from Neapolitan arias, German, French, Irish, Afrikaans and Freddie Mercury, this is a journey to be enjoyed together with the duo down memory lane.
All ages are welcome.

Dimmitrios in Concert

Internationally acclaimed nylon string virtuoso guitarist Dimmitrios Giannakis performs with his group Voices Of The Guitar.
Jazz sensation Lylle Ferreira and cross over specialist Jonathan Walters make up the trio. The group offer an eclectic range of Old School Favourites, Jazz Standards, Flamenco, Blues, Cross Over and Spanish Master Pieces, all magically performed and arranged by these three esteemed Masters. This is one of the last performances in Cape Town before Giannakis heads off to perform at the prestigious San Remo Nylon String Guitar Festival in Italy later this year.

Lecture | Godfrey Johnson: A Morning of Cabaret
Time: 11am to 12.30pm
Multi-award-winning performer Godfrey Johnson gives an intimate talk on the history of cabaret and its relevance today. He is performing items by some of the worlds greatest satirists and songwriters such as Noel Coward, Jacques Brel and Cole Porter.
In 2015 Johnson is nominated for three Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards for his work in the one-person show, Vaslav (Best performance in a cabaret, best composer and best performance in a musical). He shares the Fleur du Cap Award with Claire Watling for his performance in Kissed by Brel which was directed by Geoffrey Hyland.
