Indoor climbing is a fun and safe way to stay active during winter without having to brave the Cape Town weather. CityROCK offers you a way to be challenged mentally and physically, whilst meeting like-minded people in their gym’s vibrant atmosphere.

Their climbing gym includes a large bouldering area with more than 140 boulder problems to climb – bouldering is climbing three to four metres high without a rope.  They also have high walls for roped climbing with over 200 routes to choose from catering for all levels. They cater to various climbers, including kids, first-time climbers as well as experienced outdoor climbers.

Their coffee shop allows you to make a day out of your first trip to CityROCK. It is the perfect place to use their free wifi to document your climbing whilst you give your tired arms and hands a moment to rest.

DanceCraft Studio welcomes both new and experienced dancers to hone their craft, improve their fitness or just have fun. Xpression on the Beach is a community of like-minded people, passionate about surfing and our ocean. They offer surfboard and SUP rentals and lessons as well as their Penguin SUP Paddle Experience. 

Surfing and SUPing combines time in nature with a full-body workout. Xpression’s trained professionals offer individual or group lessons at Muizenberg beach, Seaforth and Boulders Beach. Whether you are a total beginner or consider yourself pretty good at surfing or SUPing, Xpression gives you the opportunity to improve. After your time in the ocean, Xpression also has outstanding facilities and showers for you to make use of, before indulging in a great cup of coffee and bagel or a healthy wrap and smoothie.

Their Penguin SUP Paddle Experience in a fun, active day out. To and from Ark Rock, just off the Simonstown coast, you will be able to see seabirds, fish and other marine life in their natural habitat. Viv Pullin started as a student dance teacher at the age of 16 and after living overseas, returned to Cape Town and reopened the Viv Pullin School of Dance in 1982. Jen Stretch joined the Viv Pullin School of Dance in 1990 and quickly became Viv’s right-hand lady. As one of the best costume designers in Cape Town and a wonderful dance teacher, Jen runs the Rondebosch branch of The Dance Co. 

The Dance Co. offers lessons in various forms of dance, including modern/jazz dance, creative dance, musical theatre, contemporary, hip hop and dance fitness. Their Dansfit class is a popular feature and is certainly not only for dancers. It is inspired by dance and gives all the benefits of dance, including exercise, strength, endurance, coordination, flexibility and improved posture. Dansfit takes place three mornings per week.
