Somerset Fine Wine Dinner is hosting a special dining event to showcase the brilliance of some of the best wines from the Somerset West wine region. The event takes place at Cavalli Estate’s restaurant.
This four-course dinner is Cape Winelands dining at it’s finest and features a selection of canapés and petits fours crafted by Cavalli restaurant Chef Michael Deg. Deg layered his menu with seafood, sirloin with a marriage of bold flavour touches of fennel, miso, thyme, and shallots. Dessert promises accents of dark chocolate, salted caramel, and caramelised popcorn.
For the wine selection, sommelier Higgo Jacobs expertly pairs the cuisine with whites, reds, and blends from some of Somerset Wine Route’s heavy hitters. Wineries to look out for include Cavalli, Ken Forrester, Domaine de Chevalier, Lourensford, and others.
Cavalli restaurant has built a reputation as one of the top destinations in the Cape Winelands. The venue overlooks a serene dam set against the backdrop of the magnificent Helderberg mountain range and has quickly become a favourite among discerning foodies countrywide.
Somerset Fine Wine Dinner is in proud collaboration with Wesgro, and proudly local non-alcoholic drink producer The Duchess.
