MINDFULNESS WORKSHOPS AT THE HAPPY MEDIUM COMPANY
The Happy Medium Company offers holiday mindfulness workshops, equipping kids and teens with the necessary life skills to navigate a wise path through one of the trickier times of life.
The workshops teach basic yoga poses and breath work, colour therapy with mandalas, mindfulness in daily rituals such as drinking tea, growth mindset and fixed mindset journalling exercises, and mindfulness meditations. Your child leaves the workshop with the tools to bring self-awareness to any inner struggle and to observe their thoughts objectively, as well as being able to refocus on the present moment and offer a little more compassion to themselves and others.
Included in this great workshop are worksheets, a healthy snack and most importantly, a new tool-set for practising mindfulness and balance in day-to-day life. Kids’ workshops are aimed at those between the ages of 7 and 11, and the teens workshop are for those between the ages of 12 and 15.

GAMING MADE REAL AT S.W.A.T. LASER TAG
S.W.A.T. Laser Tag Fun Days keep the kids entertained with a day of non-stop laser tag action.
S.W.A.T’s laser tag games are make-believe combat games that bring all the best parts of playing video games to life. Players are typically divided into two teams and play various style scenario games, beginning with an orientation ‘easy’ level and working their way up to more challenging levels throughout the day. As always, the emphasis is on fun in a safe, controlled environment, in which kids get to interact with each other while learning how to communicate and work together as a team – all while having some good old fashioned fun in the big outdoors.
Parents are welcome to stay for the day, or drop and collect at any time between the respective hours. Please pack lunch, snacks and drinks (with a Steers lunch option at an added fee). Fresh drinking water is provided. Recommended ages of participants are 7 years old and above.

EXPERIMENT WITH SCIENCE AT CAPEGATE
Young ones get to experiment with science and learn about all things physics at Capegate’s science workshop this school holiday.
Kids between the ages of 6 and 12 (Senior Workshop) are able to experience the wonders of science by making their own take-home lava lamps and slime, as well as partake in a group science experiment. Younger kids, between the ages of 3 and 5 (Junior Workshop), join in on a sensory workshop, learning about cloud combustion, magnetic pulls, sinking and floating objects and more. When entering the workshops, each little scientist receives a lab coat and a pair of goggles to look the part.
Each session is facilitated by hands-on staff. Parents cannot drop off their kids, they need to accompany their child for the duration of the workshop.

PUT THE ‘FUN’ IN FUNDRAISING AT THE WOW KIDS FESTIVAL
The Warrior On Wheels Foundation hosts its very first WOW Kids Festival this school holiday – putting the FUN in fundraising.
The foundation aims to uplift and empower children with disabilities by providing special adventures tailored for special kids, thereby changing the perceptions of ability and bridging the gap between able-bodied and differently-abled communities.
The day’s programme features a Two Oceans Aquarium ‘Oceans in Motions’ interactive session, a Reptile Show from Reptile Garden, a College of Magic Show, a Lollos and Lettie performance, and a lucky draw as well as other activities including face painting, sand art, jumping castles, balloon shaping, roving magicians and more.

SELF-DEFENCE LESSONS AT C.O.B.R.A.
Because you can’t always be around to keep your child safe, C.O.B.R.A. teaches your kids and teens how to look after themselves in its ultimate one-day programme in child safety and self-defence.
C.O.B.R.A. For Kids is a one-day, 4-hour training mini-academy in which children participate in anti-abduction; home invasion; communication drills; SAE IT Drills (Scream Attack Escape); ‘Circle Of Security’ Instruction; simulated 10111 calls; advanced child special striking; escaping from various chokes, holds and grabs; bullying and confidence scenarios; and they apply their skills against bad guys (scenarios).
The Teensafe course is suited for those between the ages of 13 and 18 years old, and consists of a 5-hour programme, in which teenagers learn how criminals think, how they select their victims and what can be done to minimise the risk. They also learn about social media safety; assertiveness; anti-abduction defence; traffic and parking lot safety; social life safety; self-defence techniques against the most common unarmed attacks (punches, kicks, chokes, holds, rape); deadly force self-defence techniques against the most common armed attacks (club, knife, handgun, rifle); and combat conditioning drills and scenario training.

HAVE AN ART-VENTURE AT FUNARTSYEXPLO
FunArtsyExplo is a brand new studio full of creative and tactile fun, in which children are given the freedom to express themselves and explore creativity without bounds, allowing them to imagine, paint, experiment and explore using different tools, colours and techniques on a real canvas.
During the school holiday, FunArtsyExplo runs two classes per day with a morning session dedicated to sensory play for the little ones and the afternoon session for the older kids. The Canvas Creatives classes (for 5 years old and up) works on 10x14cm canvas panels, on which children have the freedom to paint whatever they desire, with an artist on hand to demonstrate and assist whenever help is needed.

MOUNTAIN BIKING AT DIRTOPIA
Kids get down and dirty at Dirtopia, which is introducing the joy of mountain biking to the next generation on the IMBA ‘Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day’.
All ages and abilities are welcome to tag along and take a ride on Delvera, followed by kite flying (weather dependent). Kids can learn to fly their own kite, or just sit back and enjoy the spectacle of many kites of all sizes and shapes being flown together. Afterwards, there’s the opportunity to keep the fun going and grab a bite at Cafe Dirtopia, where kids get free access to a jungle gym, giant soft toys, pedal go-carts and colouring-in books.
