SUP Cape Town provides introductory lessons in Stand Up Paddle (SUP) boarding, as well as board rentals for use on the canals and long term rentals for holiday trips.
The best way of learning to SUP board is on flat water, and SUP Cape Town’s station at the V&A Waterfront provides the perfect private canals to practice. No hazards and no waves makes the canals an ideal place for first-timers, and instills comfort and confidence in guest when on the board. Inclusions for the hour are the SUP board rental and basic lesson on land. Guests are free to paddle on their own, or take a guided tour (at an extra cost).
Guests can also opt to take an hour-long private lesson with an experienced instructor, in which they learn safety (water, wind knowledge and equipment specs), stability, position and balancing different paddling strokes.
