TaalmonumentThe site that commemorates Afrikaans being declared an official language of South Africa. The roots of Afrikaans can be traced back to three continents – Asia, Europe and Africa. The architect Jan van Wijk designed the Taalmonument (language monument) in a way that it would acknowledge these widespread origins of Afrikaans.
