The Cooking Theatre offers a unique dining experience where patrons and chef mix in the same space, and diners are allowed in on the action – almost as if being on a Masterchef set.
The Cooking Theatre is a unique dining concept in the heart of the Waterfront precinct created by executive chef Brett Nussey. It offers an immersive and cutting-edge experience a little different from standard restaurant dining. The tables are positioned to offer a view of everything happening in the kitchen, combining fine dining with experimental moments.
The menu is a blend of international and re-imagined South African flavours featuring locally foraged ingredients. They use only the freshest seasonal ingredients which means that the menu changes continuously.
The venue boasts beautifully created ‘Media Racion’ plates set in an elegantly styled working kitchen. The facility is perfectly set up to host private dinner parties, events and corporate functions, all supported by a team of professional chefs.
As chef Brett says: “It’s interactive, it’s unconventional, it’s extraordinary, it’s true culinary theatre, and it takes place right in front of you.”
The seven-course set menu is offered every Friday evening.
