History: Fugard Theatre is located within the historic Sacks Futeran building in Cape Town’s District Six, with the renovated Congregational Church Hall in Caledon Street as its entrance. Construction of The Fugard Theatre was underwritten by its founding producer Eric Abraham, who continues to underwrite the operational costs.
The Fugard Annexe at 23 Harrington Street: A newly refurbished space is ideal for corporate meetings and networking sessions, rehearsal space, film shoot base camps, studio space and pre show hospitality events.
The ground-floor bar: Opens two hours before all scheduled show times and stays open until late. If the weather is fine, the bar on the rooftop terrace, with its panoramic views of the city, will be open.
The coffee bar: Open from 6.30am-11am Monday to Friday.
The Bioscope: A state-of-the-art cinema available for corporate and private rental.
Disabled facilities: Venue is wheelchair friendly and has special parking and toilet facilities for disabled patrons
Parking: Secure parking is available in Harrington Square car park on Caledon Street between Harrington and Canterbury St. Cape Town’s central bus station, taxi rank and station are all within walking distance of The Fugard.
