For First Thursday, Youngblood Gallery hosts Jooj, local origami artist, who attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the largest display of Origami butterflies.
The opening night bears witness to the GWR adjudicator awarding the certificate to Jooj, should he beat the existing record of 20226 butterflies.
While the origami butterflies are up on display, and for sale, at Youngblood until February, those interested in the event are invited to join on Thursday at 5pm.
The Youngblood Arts and Culture Development Foundation (NPC) was founded in January 2010 in response to the growing need to connect capital with burgeoning artistic and creative activities in South Africa, that would otherwise have faded from sight. Their aim is to be a platform for artists from all genres to start off from or to continue from in order to become self-sustainable.
Venue: 70-74 Bree St, Cape Town
Opening times: Mon – Fri 9am to 5pm
