Up the Creek returns for its 30 year reunion, with over 50 South African bands performing across 4 stages on the banks of the Breede River, outside of Swellendam and 2.5 hours outside of Cape Town.
The 2020 edition of the ever-popular music festival sees headliners Francois van Coke, WONDERBoom and Shortstraw joining an already extensive line up of musicians, including: Flying Bantu, Jak Skandi, Paradise Citizens, The Unity Band, Boyes Drive, The Kiffness, Hot Water, Albert Frost and Tubatsi Mpho Moloi, Gerald Clark, Southern Wild, Bam Bam Brown, Bombshelter Beast, The Toast, The Blues Broers, Basson Laubscher and the Violent Free Peace, Crosscurrent, Sutherland, Poor Princes, Warongx, Orah and the Kites, Half ‘N Half, Amy Ayanda and Little Ringo.
Also on the line-up is comedian Rob van Vuuren, performing stand-up comedy on the Savanna Stage on Saturday, as well as MC’ing the main stage on Saturday night.
More artist and comedian announcements are made again in December and January.
Up The Creek has a variety of ticketing options available to cater for all. Phase one of the weekend passes are currently on sale and are almost sold out due to limited space. A transport ticket is also for sale, providing return transport via bus from designated pick up points in Cape Town. A bus ticket also provides R100 non-refundable credit loaded onto the participants’ Howler bracelet, which is to be used for transactions throughout the festival.
Established in 1990, Up the Creek is the second longest-running outdoor music festival in South Africa. Set annually on the banks of the Breede River, 23km outside Swellendam in the Western Cape.
